A Deadly Craft

Alex and her team at The Creative Workshop are co-hosting the Winter Arts and Crafts Festival at the Bennet House mansion in Bennet Park. The mansion is buzzing with professional artisans in each of the grand rooms on two floors.

Even though Clive, the Bennet House manager, is overbearing, and he micromanages their every move, the ten-day festival starts with a bang. But then things take a turn. Alex’s cousin Jack, the police chief in Flat Rock Falls, calls to tell her that an unidentified body has been found. He was the victim of a hit-and-run and was found dead in a snowbank on the side of the road near the junction.

As they search for answers, they only find more questions. Why was he walking that road on a dark, frigid night? Where is his car? No one has reported him missing, so why was he in Flat Rock Falls? They find purchases from the festival in his motel room, but none of the artists can shed any light on who he was.

When Alex happens upon a second victim, dead under the ice in the pond in front of the Bennet House, and one of her staff is framed for the murder, there is even more at stake. The investigation becomes more complicated as Jack and Alex run parallel investigations. They know these two murders must be linked, but how? And why?

Alex and Jack must unravel a trail of clues to find the answers, but when Alex and her assistant, Maggie, are stalked by the killer, it might be too late.
