Like my protagonist, I dabble in multiple art mediums. I have done many traditional stained glass pieces, but started experimenting with using scrap glass to create large abstract designs, incorporating a mosaic technique. My paintings are usually abstract because, unlike some of my art friends, I’m not patient enough with painting to do meticulous work. What to do with old costume jewelry? Deconstruct it and play around with the pieces until a design emerges (pictured: phoenix in a lighted shadow box). This piece, as well as the “Tree of Life” stained glass and the birdhouse designs were made for auctions.

I am also an avid landscape and wildlife photographer. With photography, I am more meticulous, and my husband exhibits incredible patience when I exclaim “Pull over!” when I see a photo-worthy shot from the road, or waiting in the freezing cold while I get just the right sunset photo.

Below, you will find some amazing work from a few of my art group. I chose to highlight these three because I loosely based supporting characters in my book series on them. As I developed those characters, they became way more fiction than reality-based, but there are still little snippets of each in them.

Hopefully this gallery will inspire you to let your inner artist emerge! Enjoy!
